As of 2024, Faraz Cheema specializes in Manhattan capital markets at BKREA, where he focuses exclusively on office-to-residential conversion sales, investment sales, and seller representation across New York City.
Faraz joined BKREA following his role as Managing Group Principal at CBC – Atlas Advisory Group, where he led brokerage operations and built a strong track record in investment sales. Prior to that, he spent several years as an Investment Sales Specialist, developing deep experience in underwriting, deal execution, and client advisory.
Originally from Washington, D.C., Faraz made the transition to New York City to focus on one of the most competitive and dynamic capital markets in the world.
His background is rooted in the ownership side of the business, with over seven years of experience as a financial analyst and six years in asset management. In addition to his institutional and advisory experience, Faraz is actively involved with his privately held family office, which has ownership and investment exposure across office, retail, multifamily, and hospitality assets in the Washington DC and Baltimore MSA. This perspective gives him a unique lens when advising clients on acquisitions and dispositions, with a deep understanding of how both institutional and private capital evaluate risk, pricing, and long-term value.
Faraz holds a Master of Science in Real Estate and Infrastructure from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Business from American University. Faraz is also both a CCIM and SIOR Designee, reflecting his commitment to market expertise, advisory excellence, and leadership within the commercial real estate industry.
Beyond brokerage, Faraz is actively involved in industry leadership through both CCIM and SIOR. Within CCIM and SIOR, he is engaged across multiple chapters, including the CCIM Mid Atlantic Chapter, the SIOR MD/DC/Northern Virginia Chapter, and the SIOR NYC Downstate Chapter, where he contributes to membership, programming, and event initiatives, supporting recruitment, deal flow collaboration, and peer-to-peer connectivity among top-producing brokers. He is also an active participant in CCIM and SIOR’s national and regional conferences, contributing to panels, industry discussions, cross-market relationship building, and national committees.
